Karaikal region lies 140 kms in south of Pondicherry. The district is so spread out that Karaikal is located at the centre with the communes of Kottucherry on the north, Nedungadu on the northwest, Thirunallar on the west, Neravy and Tirumalairayanpattinam on the south. Seven sacred groves in Thirunallar commune were selected. Soil analysis of micro and macro nutrient were collected from Ambagarathuraiyanar grove, Ambagarathur kaliyamman grove, Kannapuraiyanar grove, Madeour Maduravalliamman grove, Sethuraiyanar grove, Thirunallaraiyanar grove, Varuchapathu Kottapadiaiyanar grove. The soil samples of one kilo weight was collected at depth of 20cm for the ground level and tested for the presence of micro and macro nutrients from Agriculture Department, Soil testing laboratory, Thattanchavadi, Puducherry. Comparative soil analysis data shows that Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu, the highest value in macro and micro nutrients in mostly present Potash (K) and Iron (Fe), our data shows that K and Fe same in above data
