Bioactive compounds that are derived naturally through plants, fungi, and other natural sources are the natural corticosteroids and terpenoids, which has a great role in modern medicine as they are useful in medicine because of their therapeutic nature. The use of corticosteroids, with its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties, has been extensively applied regarding the treatment of various diseases, including asthma, arthritis and autoimmune diseases. The Terpenoids are a heterogeneous category of natural products displaying wide range of pharmacological properties, such as, antimicrobial, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, as well as antioxidant properties. The purpose of the review is to examine the pharmacognostic information of these natural products, their chemical structures, sources, mode of actions, and therapeutic potential. They focus on extraction and isolation methods, as well as their standardization and regulatory and quality aspects. Moreover, the therapeutic implication, safety profiles and new uses of these compounds in drug discovery are addressed and the relevance of natural products in the building of sustainable and effective therapeutic agents
