REVIEW AND ANALYSIS OF THE REGULATORY GUIDELINES OF CONTROLLED DRUGS AND SUBSTANCES IN VARIOUS COUNTRIES
The regulatory frameworks governing controlled drugs vary significantly across different regions, reflecting diverse legal, economic, and socio-cultural landscapes. This research aims to elucidate these frameworks in both regulated and emerging countries, with a particular focus on nations such as the United States, Japan, and those within the BRICS and SAARC groups, as well as the European Union. By compiling fact sheets on key areas including geographical distribution, economic status, pharmaceutical market size, regulatory authorities, offenses and penalties, and significant seizures, this study provides a comprehensive overview of the regulatory mechanisms for controlled drugs. The findings highlight the unique approaches and challenges faced by each country in managing the distribution and use of controlled substances, offering valuable insights into the global landscape of drug regulation. Key regulatory agencies and websites were identified, along with an analysis of offenses, penalties, and case studies related to controlled substances, providing a foundation for understanding regulatory strategies and compliance in various regions.
