The implementation of a PLM system is now a must for all commercial enterprises. In order to ensure the effective installation of a PLM system solution, commercial organisations follow the different implementation recommendations that are available. Available implementation guidelines may result in unsuccessful implementation/re-implementation in some cases, depending on the situation. Each unsuccessful / reimplementation attempt results in a waste of time, money, and effort on both sides. An examination of existing available implementation guidelines, with a little bit of detail in genuine PLM implementation projects in the Indian context, especially in the process manufacturing industry, is required. The paper will give a challenges for effective PLM implementation in the Indian Process Manufacturing Industries, with a focus on the process manufacturing industry. It will lower the failure rate associated with PLM deployment.
