Abstract
India is the largest producer of sesame, having a very high nutritive, therapeutic value. It is a rich source of macro and micro nutrients including proteins, vitamins, calcium, dietary lignans, phosphorous minerals, fatty acids etc. Plant of sesam is easy to grow is well suited for cultivation in crop rotation. Every part of sesam tree is useful in the industrial, engineering, and pharmaceutical. This article is an attempt for the detail about of sesam tree in that it includes cultivation collection of tree and its house hold and medicinal importance and its future prospects are discussed in this article
